Dusty Girls Natural Mineral Blush

In amongst a parcel of milky goodness I was sent from MooGoo was this very pretty Natural Mineral Blush by Dusty Girls.  I was so pleased when MooGoo brought out their makeup range and was immediate hooked on the name and the packaging.  It has that lovely honest country feel about it!

As well as posting my review I thought I'd have a frolic about the countryside and make a little video.  It was lots of fun, I entertained some cows and sustained three injuries in the process (!)...why is barbed wire so nasty!?!

The colour that was sent to me was "Pink Ladies", a very pretty pink that has the tiniest hint of sparkle to it.  Now I'm not big on makeup but this blush was perfect for me because it gives you a lovely natural pink flush to your cheeks, just like you would get if you've gone out for a horse ride, chased a cow around the yards or even had a good old romp in the hay!

What's even better about it is that MooGoo are big on using natural ingredients and leaving out all the horrible ones...so you won't find any chemical preservatives, talc's or Bismuth (which whatever that is, it sounds terrible and I certainly don't want it on my face!)...instead they use the healthiest natural oils, oxides and micas.  They also make it in a gorgeous golden shade called "Golden Delicious", which would be perfect for those with a darker skin tone.

Like all MooGoo and Dusty Girls products I love this blush and would certainly recommend it.  Below is my little video...I hope you enjoy it!
Dusty Girl products worn include:

Dusty Girls Natural Mineral Blush in "Pink Ladies"
Dusty Girls Natural Mineral Foundation SPF 15 "Fair Minerals with Pink Sunrise Tones"
Dusty Girls Natural Mineral Mascara "Night Fall"
Dusty Girls Natural Mineral Lip Shine "Argyle Pink"

MooGoo Evening Primrose & Starflower Oil

I recently received a lovely milk pail of products from MooGoo...my favourite skincare company, and in and amongst the goodies was the Evening Primrose & Starflower Oil.  The directions state that you can use just a small amount to massage into dry, red or scaly skin, or you can use it as an all over serum.

Evening Primrose Oil is high in something called Gamma Linoleic Acid, an ingredient which helps restore the skin's epidermal barrier.  Starflower oil is fantastic for restoring oil to dry skin and the Natural Vitamin E helps keep the natural oils in your skin working as they should.

I have included a short video clip of how I use the Evening Primrose & Starflower Oil, along with the help of my bovine friends!  Enjoy!

A Little Glamourflage

Ok, so lately I've had to have a complete overhaul of all my makeup and skincare products because...well...I've kind of had things for way too long.  And I mean years too long.  It's disgusting.

It's because I run out of me time.  I know it is.  It's certainly not because I am a hoarder.  In fact I'm great at throwing things out.  Probably too good at it actually.

So here's where I thought I'd replace all my boring skincare and makeup with fun products.  Namely those with super cool packaging and those that smell amazing.  The reason....so maybe I would look at moisturising as a fun thing to do instead of something that is taking five minutes out of my life when I probably should be doing housework or taking care of the kids.

I need to have some R and R some time.  Maybe this is a way to force a bit of pampering onto myself?!

So....this is Glamourflage and it is the most fun in skincare I've ever seen.  I stumbled across them a couple of years ago when I was living in the middle of nowhere in New South Wales.  They have gorgeous products and the packaging is so quirky.  And sexy!

I needed a new face cream because the one that I got the other week is just not right for me.  See it here .  I do like this one, but just not so much on me.  I also needed a new body cream because I threw out two last week that were WAY past their use by date.  They smelt funny.  And they looked at me funny when I took their lids off.  In the bin with those.

Anyway I discovered that it was actually better value for money to buy the Spoil Yourself Gift Set because it ended up costing less than buying these products separately, and I also got a little candle and the gorgeous Daisy Delight Lip Balm within the set.  It's cherry flavoured.  Need I say more.

The whole lot came in the most beautiful box.

The Vera Vamp Body Cream has a lovely pearly sheen and it smells like tropical flowers. The Luscious Lucy Face Cream is exactly that.  It smooths on really well and is not too heavily scented, which is definitely something I prefer in a face cream.

The Lip Balm is definitely a bonus.  The cherry flavour is divine.
Hopefully after a while of using these products I will end up looking like these gorgeous gals on the lids!  Hmmm...maybe not!

Moo Goo Review

Moo Goo, one of my favourite ranges of skincare.  I love everything about them; their use of 'people' friendly ingredients, the fact they are Australian made and owned and they have cows on all their packaging!  What more could you want!?!  They also have some very clever names for their products, such as Cow Lick Lip Balm, Tail Swat Body Spray (which is an insect repellent) and Mudder Udder Balm (for breastfeeding mothers).

The company itself came from small beginnings, starting with one simple product, the Skim Milk Udder Cream (which is a fantastic all purpose moisturiser).  Apparently the founder took a cream used on dairy farms, that was used to heal cow's udders, and adapted it to help a member of their family with a skin problem.  The cream they use on dairy farms is incredibly healing, but too greasy for human use, so it was changed...keeping the healing properties and removing the grease.

This was one of the first Moo Goo Products I came across and I love it.  I use it as a hand cream, and sometimes on my face, especially if I am going away and just want to take one tube of cream that will do many things.  As well as the gorgeous fragrance (kind of marshmallow-y), I particularly liked the 'Directions' for use they originally had on the back of the tube....

"Wash udder and teat parts thoroughly before each milking to avoid contamination of milk.
Apply udder cream to the udder after each milking, massaging into the skin......"

It was great, very tongue in cheek.  The outside blerb on the tube is a bit different now but the product is still its same fantastic self.

I now keep a number of their products on hand including:

Milk Wash

This can be used for the body or face and is a combination of six natural cleansers.  Personally I use it for my face and use the Fresh Milk Cleansing Bar everywhere else, but sometimes I will wash all over with it, first squirting a little on a bath lily and soaping it up a bit.  It's not overly foamy like normal soap, and it doesn't dry out your skin like soap can.  This is why I love it for my face.

Milk Shampoo

I'm using this on my children at the moment, my one year old daughter included.  So far none of them have complained or cried about getting stingy shampoo in their eyes, which is great.  It smells lovely and the conditioner is really nice too.

Nappy Balm

This is great, and has been tested on the developers own babies, so you can have every confidence that it is going to be fine for your own little one.  My little girl is quite fair and easily gets a little red bottom.  This has a nice soft consistency and smooths on really easily.  Some nappy creams are a bit sticky and seem to pull on the skin as you put it on, which I think hurts your baby even more, which is not good when they have really bad nappy rash.  This is the best nappy balm I have come across.  It is also ok if she happens to put it in her mouth because there is nothing harmful in it, nor is there any nut oils (just in case of nut allergies).

Cow Lick Lip Balm

Great little tube of lip balm that easily fits in your jeans pocket.  It's easy to always have on me even when I'm out and about on the farm.  When I worked full time as a farmhand I always had a tube of this on me since I was constantly exposed to the elements.  There are no chemicals, which is great since you generally end up digesting a portion of your lip balm (!) and it is fragranced with Mandarin Essential Oil.

Fresh Milk Cleansing Bar - Fresh Buttermilk

This is like an old fashioned piece of soap, nice and big, and they are made with fresh milk.  They last for ages, longer than any other soap I have used.

The range is not overly pricey and they are available in store or online.  My local chemist stocks it (after I showed them a brochure about three years ago...so they ordered it in and have been stocking it ever since!), but you can buy it easily in major chemists and health food stores.
